RUGIPO Decide 2018: We Never Nominated Any Candidate - Management, Moyen Decries

By   Michael Isiaka & Emmanuel Audu Sequel to rumour going viral among students over alleged nomination of some candidates among the contesters ahead of the 2017/2018 Students' Union Government Election (SUG), the management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has decried for their innocence on the allegation. This was revealed by the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Ben Opawale while chatting with newmen before the commencement of the election at the Old Auditorium polling unit at early hours of today. Speaking with RUGIPO Press Council, he said, the allegation was a rumour propagated by some unscrupulous persons. The management has never enagage in such act and would never do such this time as they have their names to protect which they won't allow anyone to tarnish. This is not the first SUG election to be conducted in the polytechnic so they don't support nor recognize any aspirant until the winners are declared by the electoral body...

Rugipo: Students Should Vote In Intellectual leaders: says Lecturer Obaniyi

A lecturer in the department of Quantity Survey in Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo and also a former SUG president of the institution, Mr Obaniyi Abiola gave the advice at an event held at school sporting complex to mark the 2017/2018 manifesto ceremony ahead of the election. While addressing the students Obaniyi said, its time for Rugipolites to stand up and face their challenges appropriately without any fear or favour. By   Michael Isiaka & Adedayo Oriade The Independent Students Electoral Committee of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has assured students of the institution of a transparent and unbiased conduction of the impending election slated for Friday, 3rd of August, 2018. The assurance was given by Chairman of the 2016/2017 RUGIPOISEC, Comr Adeboye Ado while chatting with newsmen after the manifestoe held at the school sporting complex on Thursday, 2nd of August, 2018. According to Ado, the electoral body has made necessary preparation for the success of tomorrow's Student Union Government's (SUG) election. Ado further stressed that, original school fees receipt, stamped by the school bursary would serve as a criterion for electorates and the electoral process would commence by 8am till 1pm as strictly ordered by the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Ben Opawale. Hall Election 2018: Olasumbo Emerges As President For Female Hostel

By   Opeyemi Akeredolu & Grace Orukotan The hostel-residing female students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO), trooped in mass to elect new executives for 2017/2018 Academic Session on Monday, 30th of July, 2018. The election was held at block A and B, common room of the female hostel at around 8am. While announcing the result, Miss Oladipo Olasumbo was declared as chairman of the female hall executive with 116 votes, defeating her opponent, Miss Elizabeth Ifeoma with 106 votes. Moreover, Miss Oluwatoyin Kekere as welfare director (unopposed) and Miss Toyin Oladimeji as Public Relations Officer. RUGIPO: For The First Time, AID Department Conducts Own Departmental Election

Election Ongoing...  By Tosin Ayekodogba For the first time in history, the department of Art and Industrial Design of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) conducted own departmental election to elect executives for 2017/2018 Academic Session few hours ago. The electoral process commenced with the presentation of manifestoes by aspirants, before the commencement of the election fully at the department's lecture hall. Owo LG Issues New Schedule Unto Students For Signing Of Undertaken Form

By   Opeyemi Akeredolu The Owo Local Government of Ondo state has issued a schedule unto students of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) for the signing of undertaken form. This was revealed in a circular signed and released by Mrs J.I Agunanna for the LG's Chairman to the entire Polytechnic community during the week. According to the Circular, students are welcome at the LG's secretariat on Mondays by 11am to 2pm and on Fridays by 11am to 1pm as from Wednesday, 1st of August, 2018. It further warned that, students who fails to comply with the directive would be denied of their officials' attention. Moreover, the deadline for the signing process was not stated therein.
