We Shall Ensure Transparency, Unbiasedness Towards Tomorrow's Election, Embrace It Result - RUGIPOISEC Tells Students

The Independent Students Electoral Committee of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has assured students of the institution of a transparent and unbiased conduction of the impending election slated for Friday, 3rd of August, 2018.

The assurance was given by Chairman of the 2016/2017 RUGIPOISEC, Comr Adeboye Ado while chatting with newsmen after the manifestoe held at the school sporting complex on Thursday, 2nd of August, 2018.

According to Ado, the electoral body has made necessary preparation for the success of tomorrow's Student Union Government's (SUG) election.

Ado further stressed that, original school fees receipt, stamped by the school bursary would serve as a criterion for electorates and the electoral process would commence by 8am till 1pm as strictly ordered by the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Ben Opawale.

The polling units are CET Room 1 for the faculty of Engineering and faculty of Agricultural Technology, Old Auditirium for the faculty of Environmental Studies and faculty of Business Studies and Central Cafe for the faculty of Applied Sciences, and faculty of Social Sciences and Communication Studies.

He said that, only the ND2 and HND2 students of the Polytechnic are eligible to partake in the voting exercise and there would be thorough screening for electorates ahead of the election.

He added that, people has been commending the body for their present outstanding performances to previous electoral body and regarding this commendation, the body will never rig the election.

However, he stressed that he has discovered that some students do consider election as a do or die affair and which he considered as a misconception.

He, therefore, advised all aspirant and students to shun violence during and after the election, and they should embrace the result to be declared tomorrow by the body.

RUGIPO Decide 2018: We Never Nominated Any Candidate - Management, Moyen Decries

By   Michael Isiaka & Emmanuel Audu Sequel to rumour going viral among students over alleged nomination of some candidates among the contesters ahead of the 2017/2018 Students' Union Government Election (SUG), the management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has decried for their innocence on the allegation. This was revealed by the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Ben Opawale while chatting with newmen before the commencement of the election at the Old Auditorium polling unit at early hours of today. Speaking with RUGIPO Press Council, he said, the allegation was a rumour propagated by some unscrupulous persons. The management has never enagage in such act and would never do such this time as they have their names to protect which they won't allow anyone to tarnish. Rugipo: Students Should Vote In Intellectual leaders: says Lecturer Obaniyi
