RUGIPO Decide 2018: We Never Nominated Any Candidate - Management, Moyen Decries

Sequel to rumour going viral among students over alleged nomination of some candidates among the contesters ahead of the 2017/2018 Students' Union Government Election (SUG), the management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) has decried for their innocence on the allegation.

This was revealed by the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Ben Opawale while chatting with newmen before the commencement of the election at the Old Auditorium polling unit at early hours of today.

Speaking with RUGIPO Press Council, he said, the allegation was a rumour propagated by some unscrupulous persons.

The management has never enagage in such act and would never do such this time as they have their names to protect which they won't allow anyone to tarnish.

This is not the first SUG election to be conducted in the polytechnic so they don't support nor recognize any aspirant until the winners are declared by the electoral body.

He further stressed that, the Independent Students' Electoral Committe (RUGIPOISEC) has been trained to conduct the election in conformity with the school rules and regulations.

Moreover, he urged the elogible students to come out massively to vote for their preferred candidates and comport themselves.

However, he assured the securement of their lives and properties as critical security measures has been taken to sustain serenity on campus.

Also speaking, the incumbent President of RUGIPO SUG, Comr Temitayo Ayejuyo (Moyen) considered the allegation on his side as sham.

He advised students to vote leaders that will fight on their behalf for justice even at their inconvieniences and the executives should endeavour to working towards the welfarism of the students.

Rugipo: Students Should Vote In Intellectual leaders: says Lecturer Obaniyi

By Emmanuel Audu Rugipo students have been advised to choose a leader with a  vision, mission and foresight as they go to the poll to vote their representatives in the impending Students' Union Government election. A lecturer in the department of Quantity Survey in Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo and also a former SUG president of the institution, Mr Obaniyi Abiola gave the advice at an event held at school sporting complex to mark the 2017/2018 manifesto ceremony ahead of the election. While addressing the students Obaniyi said, its time for Rugipolites to stand up and face their challenges appropriately without any fear or favour.
